Scouting Scott's Run
After all the water dried up post Thanksgiving (freaking figures)all that was left as usual was a run down the Potomac. With the level at 5 feet not a whole lot was going on. Scott and i set shuttle at Carderock, drove up and ran the gorge, playing at any little wave we could find along the way. It was a gorgeous warm day at least so we were having a good time.
To top it off we decided to go take a look at Scott's Run, a small fairly steep urban creek that comes into the Potomac across from Carderock. Scott had gotten a chance to run it recently after a heavy rain.
We climbed up at the final drop and walked a short way up the gorge. Unfortunatley there was not enough water that day but it did look like it would be fun. The final 15 foot drop lands in the Potomac but requires the level to be fairly high (around 7 feet?) as low water results in a rocky landing.
Hopefully next time it has water we'll get a chance to catch it.
